Purpose

The Urban Environment Group at Yale University is an interdisciplinary research
group studying the interactions among urbanization, global change, and
sustainability. Our projects include:

• Using remote sensing to monitor urban land-use change

• Understanding the interaction among policy, land-use, and environmental change

• Simulating and forecasting urban expansion

• Simulating and forecasting regional sociodemographics and economies

• Understanding the effects of land-use change
